Baby Massage Instructor Training with Connected Babies

Updated: Nov 20, 2021

So, you've decided to look in to baby massage instructor training but find yourself overwhelmed by the packages, providers and prices? How can you possibly choose the right course?

Most of the time the right course will speak to you, so browse away, speak to the trainers, research the companies, read the reviews and listen to your gut. If it helps, I can at least tell you a little bit about me and what our training courses offer.

I'm Crystal. I am the founder of Connected Babies and an International Trainer with the world renowned International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM). Sometimes that's confusing enough so let me help...

The IAIM are a worldwide non-profit association that have what we call "chapters" in different countries. At time of writing we have a presence in 76 countries!

All of the IAIM trainers that run trainings for the UK chapter run their own businesses, so you will see our trainings listed on the IAIM websites as well our own, but all of our students that complete the process go on to become Certified Infant Massage Instructors (CIMIs) with the IAIM.

We are one big global family!

IAIM trainers are teaching the same 15 core curriculum points over the 4 day training programme, just with our individual style! These curriculum points include topics such as infant behavioural states, cues and reflexes, bonding and attachment, touch and massage research, marketing, teaching skills and many more. We uniquely invite parents and babies for 3 of the 4 days so that you can really see our programme in action, observe the parents and babies, and get hands on experience of practicing your new skills. Our students tell us that this is key in helping them to feel confident and prepared to go on to teach families following the training.

I am a passionate advocate for infant massage, infant mental health and responsive parenting. I started my baby massage journey as a parent, doing a course with my first born. I cried when it was over and I began researching, as you are now, how to become an instructor myself. I was certain that the fundamental messages entwined in our 5 week parent course, if experienced by all, could literally change the world. After a decade of teaching courses to thousands of families, I knew I wanted to go a step further and went on to train for 2 years through the IAIM to become an International Trainer for our beautiful programme. Now you can help me to share the love!

What I'm most proud of is the feedback that I get from students on how enjoyable, heart-warming and interactive our training is. If you're looking for lectures and regurgitated information, I am not the training provider for you. Our practical is balanced with important theory, delivered through activities that encourage self reflection and personal and professional growth. It's not unusual over the 4 days for us to laugh, cry and go deep in to this important work. It is so much more than learning massage strokes.

Ultimately, I invest in my students, as they have in me, and am on hand to support them through their infant massage journey and beyond, sharing my experience, knowledge and success as a baby massage teacher. I was able to leave my 9-5, work around my family, choose my hours and most importantly have 100% job satisfaction knowing how rewarding this work is. I love to support both CIMIs looking to work independently and those incorporating it in to their existing roles in family support to ensure that their classes are successful.

I would love to support you on your journey to become a baby massage instructor
